One part of R&D is currently focused on optimizing and finalizing the pilot phase of a Dascanova Technology project involving wood-based panels in cooperation with our European and North American research partners. The R&D department is also working on the modification of Dascanova Technology for use in the insulation industry, as well as on analyzing new ideas and processes that could lead to future improvements in the wood-based panels and construction industry.
Due to the high complexity of wood working technology, development work in mechanical engineering requires cooperation of an interdisciplinary team of physicists, chemists, technologists and engineers developing and optimizing new technologies. A number of prestigious companies and research institutes such as Dynea Austria AG and ETH Zurich are involved in the innovation processes.
